Tess Herbert

Rooted in art history and costume design, Tess’ approach to styling focuses on the narrative quality of her subjects. After completing her degree, Tess established a strong editorial foundation while working at American Vogue. Her following role in the Costume and Textiles Collection at the Museum of the City of New York cemented her experimental point of view.

She has worked with musicians such as Teyana Taylor, Tierra Whack, Kelsey Lu, and Princess Nokia.

Editorially she contributes to Time Magazine, Document Journal, SSENSE, and Vogue.

Her frequent collaborators include photographers, directors, and artists, including Ronan Mackenzie, June Canedo, and Tourmaline. Her most frequent collaboration with Tourmaline, “Salacia”, a short film, is now on permanent exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum.

Clients include Barragán, Gap, and Marc Jacobs.
